Birmingham City striker Marvin Ducksch is wanted by Real Sociedad and AEK Athens ahead of the summer, according to German news outlet Bild.

Birmingham City could face a battle to keep hold of the attacker in the next transfer window. He remains under contract with BCFC until June 2028 meaning he still has two years left to run down on his deal in England
Ducksch, 32, was acquired by the Blues last year and he has since made a positive impression with the Midlands outfit. He has made 32 appearances in all competitions this season, 29 of which have come in the Championship, and he has chipped in with 11 goals and two assists.

In this latest update regarding his situation, Bild claim he has emerged on the radar of Real Sociedad and AEK Athens in Spain and Greece respectively. In addition, two unnamed Bundesliga sides are said to be keen on luring him back to Germany, whilst there is also said to be some attention from the MLS.

Birmingham City drew 1-1 at home against Sheffield United over the weekend. Ducksch managed to get himself on the scoresheet against the Blades but the hosts couldn’t get the win in the end.
Birmingham City will have a decision to make regarding Ducksch‘s future if a decent offer comes in for his signature. At the age of 32, BCFC could get a much younger alternative.

The Germany international, who has two caps to his name, has been a useful option for the Blues though. He is experienced and has proved that he knows where the back of the net is
He was snapped up last year following their promotion from League One. Chris Davies signed him to bolster his attacking department and he has adapted well to life in his new country.

Prior to his switch, he had spent his whole career to date in Germany. He had spells with the likes of Borussia Dortmund, FC St. Pauli, Fortuna Dusseldorf, Hannover 96 and Werder Bremen.

What now for Birmingham City and Marvin Ducksch?

Birmingham City would need to weigh up what to do next with Ducksch if a big bid comes in amid attention from Real Sociedad, AEK Athens and others. BCFC’s immediate focus will be on closing the gap between them and the play-offs though.

The Blues’ draw with Sheffield United has left them seven points off the top six behind Wrexham. They are positioned in 9th place with only eight fixtures left to play.

Davies‘ men are back in action this weekend. They face an away trip to Derby County.
