Philippe Coutinho has agreed to join Brighton & Hove Albion on a free transfer this summer, pending a medical. The Brazilian midfielder will look to revive his career in the Premier League after agreeing to leave Vasco da Gama.
Coutinho, 31, said: “I’m excited to return to England and play for Brighton. The club’s project and ambition attracted me. I’m looking forward to working with Roberto De Zerbi and helping the team achieve great things.”
Brighton confirmed the deal, with De Zerbi praising Coutinho’s quality: “He’s a top player with experience. He’ll add creativity and flair to our team.”
Coutinho’s contract with Vasco da Gama was set to expire in December 2026, but he’s opted to leave this summer to join Brighton.
