Sheffield Wednesday takeover in a \u2018positive\u2019 space as EFL talks continue<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is believed to be positivity around the progress of the Arise consortium with regards to their hopes of completing a takeover of Sheffield Wednesday.
Arise, which is made up of David Storch, Michael Storch and Tom Costin, were named as the new preferred bidders for the Owls earlier this month, and numerous meetings have taken place since then as they look to move things forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One potential sticking point did crop up recently as it was communicated to those involved that a wage cap could be imposed on the club by the English Football League as well as the 15-point deduction for not adhering to the 25p on the \u00a3 rule, with last week being described as a \u2018big one\u2019 amid ongoing discussions.
Now, with a new week upon us, The Star is led to believe that talks have continued to go well, and that things have been moving in a \u2018positive\u2019 direction. It\u2019s understood that further meetings will take place over the coming days, and that one of more of the consortium members could return to the UK in the next week or so should said progress continue.
There is also said to be a confidence when it comes to Arise passing the EFL\u2019s Owners\u2019 and Directors\u2019 Test, with the consortium having moved swiftly to supply documents and information in an attempt to expedite the process.
Storch and Co have ambitions of finalising their takeover at Hillsborough in order to be in place ahead of the summer transfer window, with putting together a squad that\u2019s properly sustainable as well as improving the spend in the stadium and modernising the club\u2019s training facilities believed to be among their primary goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, there was word from joint-administrator, Kris Wigfield, over the weekend, who expressed his hopes of getting a deal done despite there being \u2018still work to do\u2019.
