Leeds United have endured a difficult recent run, but last weekend Daniel Farke steadied the ship. The Whites had lost their previous two league matches before facing Crystal Palace.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dropping six points represented a significant setback after earlier results had edged them closer to safety. The club now sit just three points above the relegation zone following positive outcomes for Nottingham Forest and West Ham. Last weekend, Farke\u2019s side started strongly away at Palace, controlling much of the first half and creating the better chances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leeds were handed a golden opportunity to take the lead when they were awarded a penalty just before half-time. Dominic Calvert-Lewin stepped up but sent his effort wide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minutes later, Leeds were reduced to ten men after Gabriel Gudmundsson received a second yellow card for a foul on Ismaila Sarr. The decision was viewed as harsh by the Leeds bench, particularly as Brennan Johnson appeared to escape a booking for a similar challenge moments earlier despite already being on a yellow. Crystal Palace pressed forward with waves of attacks after Leeds went down to ten men but failed to find a breakthrough. The Whites left Selhurst Park with a valuable point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This week, Daniel Farke revealed that he has not received any apology from the league or PGMOL following Gudmundsson\u2019s sending-off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPersonally not, also not checked because it doesn\u2019t make a difference. Everyone who watched Palace has the same view but it doesn\u2019t mean anything right now. He\u2019s (Gudmundsson) out and we have to cope with the situation.\u201d Farke said in Thursday\u2019s press conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whites will be without a key player on Saturday<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Leeds missing Gabriel Gudmundsson against Brentford will be a significant blow, and Daniel Farke has every right to feel aggrieved. During the Palace match, the home side appeared to benefit from favourable decisions, with several players avoiding yellow cards for clear fouls. The refereeing was inconsistent throughout, and on another day the Whites could easily have lost the game. Now, they must find a way to overcome Brentford at Elland Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Farke faces a difficult selection dilemma ahead of the match, as there is no natural left-footed left-back in the squad outside of Gudmundsson. Fans will be hoping the club\u2019s strong home form proves decisive on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
