$14,000,000-valued star has signed to jazz

Jordan Clarkson’s future with the Utah Jazz appears to be in doubt, if stories regarding trade talks are to be believed, thus Lauri Markkanen is not the only player in the spotlight these days.

Although it might not be as easy as it seems to offload their highest-paid player, Tony Jones, the beat reporter for The Athletic about the Utah Jazz, revealed that the franchise is also seeking for suitors.

“The Jazz are going to try to trade him, but I don’t think they’ll be able to,” Jones stated in an ESPN700 interview with Spence Checketts on The Drive. “It’s going to be really interesting,” Jones continued.

“Well, we’ll see what kinds of teams are willing to pay for a player with Clarkson’s skill set. His contract appears to be 14 million this summer, therefore I think he’s at 14 million. We’ll see what transpires, he continued.

Jordan Clarkson’s current contract with the Utah Jazz has two more years left, with him expected to make about $14 million a year. When he turns 34 in the summer of 2026, the former NBA Sixth Man of the Year winner will be eligible for unrestricted free agency.

In the 2023–24 regular season, Jordan Clarkson participated in 55 games (19 starts), averaging 17.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per contest. Nevertheless, he made a career-low 29.4 percent of his three-point attempts and only shot 41.3 percent from the field.

Jordan Clarkson might stand out on the team that includes Keyonte George, Isaiah Collier, and Collin Sexton as the Utah Jazz try to develop their young core.

The Utah Jazz haven’t made many offseason additions this summer; Drew Eubanks is their lone acquisition, signing a $10 million, two-year contract.
